About Us
The Urban Retreat Hostel is a snow lover’s dream! Our seasonal hostel is ideally situated in the heart of the Big White village, which is 60 km from Kelowna, BC. Currently, we are only open during October to April each season.
We are within walking distance of everything you’ll need, including groceries, equipment rentals, pubs, and restaurants. We have a ski-in-ski-out location which provides access to most of Big White’s ski lifts and the terrain park from our backyard in minutes. For a true ski hill experience, The Urban Retreat Hostel is the place to be!
Inside, you’ll find everything you will need during your stay. We offer a massive TV room with comfy furniture for up to 30 people and a front desk/lobby with knowledgeable staff to help you with whatever it is you need. The hostel has paid fibre optic wi-fi, a wax station, ski locker, drying room and a massive kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is equipped with everything you’ll need to cook, dry food storage, 5 fridges, 2 deep freezers, 3 cooking areas and 2 sink areas. We have coin-operated laundry facilities as well as 4 fully functioning bathrooms.
All of our staff live on site, and so do many people who stay the entire snow season. This makes for a unique hostel experience. This is more than a hostel, it’s a family! Come and experience everything The Urban Retreat Hostel has to offer. We also have the best rates in town.
